Classified Service positions readily available at the university are within the purview of NYS Civil Service. Some positions are within the competitive class service and some are non-competitive or labor class.
Competitive and non-competitive vacancies are posted as contractually required for the required variety of days and, in general, university workers are considered initially for vacancies.
If the university is not able to determine a qualified, internal prospect for a provided position, we then accept applications from external candidates.

Competitive
